Access Statement for Lostwithiel Hotel Golf & Country Club
Introduction
Set amongst 150 acres of rolling wooded hills, within the tranquil valley of the river Fowey, there is no better locations for your short break, family holiday, golf break or business stop over.
The hotel accommodation consists of 5 converted old Cornish Barns, retaining the original charm of the mellowed stone and beamed ceilings. The hotel offers 3 star accommodation and has a total of 27 rooms available to guests. Several rooms are ground floor accessible with one equipped to cover some disabilities to help the traveller.
Our Black Prince Restaurant situated on the ground floor is perfect for enjoying a meal using the local produce from the surrounding area. A Sports Bar situated on the 1st floor with a terrace overlooking the golf course is open all day to serve light hearted meals or beverages.
As part of the leisure facilities the hotel has two all weather tennis courts and a superb indoor heated swimming pool. Two well stocked lakes set amongst the golf course boast Carp, Trout and Perch. One pontoon has been designed for wheelchair access with a buggy available to transport guests.

• Air South West have regular flights to Newquay (01637860551). Ryanair also fly from Stanstead to Newquay
• Nearest mainline train station is Bodmin Parkway a 15 minute drive from the hotel although there is a station at Lostwithiel.
• The National Coach company have a stop at Lostwithiel. A taxi will be required to transport you to the hotel

• At reception help is always available for luggage etc
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• We have our own private on site tarmac car park situated outside reception
• Cars can be driven to the accommodation area and if needed can be left by the room for people who can only walk short distances.
• From the hotel there are pathways which are paving and gravel directing you to your room
• Rooms from the main building are only a short distance (45sec walk) which depending on the route can be all flat or stepped
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
• At the main reception entrance their is a small step into the foyer. Another entrance to the side of reception is suitable for wheelchairs as it has a slope into the complex. After going through the double doors you then walk a short distance to reception. The main reception area and corridor leading to the Black Prince Restaurant & Garden Room is carpeted and of level ground throughout. The Restaurant is carpeted throughout, the Garden Room floor is tiles.
• The Sports Bar and Balcony are situated on the first floor with stairs as the only access.
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
• The main public area is carpeted throughout with good lighting.
• A pay phone is situated by reception on the ground floor. Help with telephones is available at reception.
• Baby changing facilities are available in the Ladies Changing Room which is ground floor
• Only guide dogs are permitted in the main complex although other dogs are welcome to use the terrace which has a metal spiral staircase up to it. Fresh water can also be available by asking the bar person. Dogs are allowed on the golf course and in a couple of our en-suite rooms.
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
• The Garden Room situated on the ground floor opposite the main reception area is suitable for a lounge. The floor has light stone tiles with extremely good natural light. Assistance for any food or beverages from the 1st floor is available from reception who can order and serve.
Public WCs
• Situated in the main reception area is a toilet for catering for some disabilities. The room can accommodate wheelchairs and has hand rails by the toilet and sink.
Additional Information
• In the event of an evacuation details are displayed in all rooms. Reception staff will be aware of any wheelchair users and will help the to the assembly point if needed. Should you think you may have some difficulties then please confirm with reception on check in.
• The main complex and majority of hotel rooms are non smoking.
• All medication can be stored in the fridge in the kitchen. All bottles/packets need to be marked clearly with name.
• All staff at the hotel will give guidance and help as much as possible. Any member of staff can be approached and will be only too happy to help.
